SURVIVALIST

Ashley and Jake survived the end of the world. Can they survive without each other?

Jake’s world is falling apart. There is no power, no water, no food, and worst of all, no Ashley. Jake’s girlfriend has disappeared, leaving Jake anguished and alone as tension in his city tips into violence. When Jake’s ex shows up with the National Guard, Jake must decide how far he’ll go to survive, and whether he’s willing to leave Ashley behind to do it.

Sheltered in the bug-out her mother prepared for the end of the world, Ashley has everything she needs to survive society’s collapse — everything except Jake. To reunite with the boy she loves, Ashley must leave safety behind to cross hundreds of miles of lawless America, risking everything on the hope that he’ll still be there when she arrives… and that the two of them can make it back.

Picking up exactly where PREPPER leaves offff, SURVIVALIST continues Ashley and Jake's story to see if love can survive the end of the world as we know it.

Content Warning

It is difficult to know, for a book plainly set during society’s collapse, what content might warrant a warning. This is especially true first, because every reader is different and second, because almost every reader who reads SURVIVALIST will previously have read PREPPER, and therefore already be familiar with this milieu. But while a reader might correctly expect scarcity and violence from these books, both of which are more acute in SURVIVALIST, they might be caught off guard by a sexual assault, even if it takes place off page. Such an incident occurs in this book, and is perpetuated by members of a hate group. The emotional recovery is on page. SURVIVALIST also has more gunfire and illness relative to PREPPER, and Ashley’s dogs attack and kill another animal on the page. I have tried to write this content warning to avoid spoilers, which is why it is in paragraph form rather than bullet points. However, as these books are increasingly mirroring our actual reality, I feel obliged to note that in these pages at least, there will be a happy ending.
